The English Language Arts Network (ELAN) has banded together with six Quebec regions, home to active English-speaking arts communities, to create an exciting festival that will run all summer long. Arts Alive! Quebec is a moveable feast of music, theatre, dance, visual arts, and film, offering hands-on, creative fun for the entire family!
On July 3 and 4, Arts Alive! Quebec comes to Knowlton allowing the region to host a weekend mini-festival that includes indoor and outdoor family entertainment and activities. Guest authors, live music, theatre, poetry, dance… the richness of each region will be uniquely reflected in its programming. Visual artists and artisans will have the opportunity to display and sell their works and many of the scheduled events are free. Well-known headliners share the weekend line-ups with local performers to create a truly collaborative celebration uniting the community and professional artists.
Organizers are very lucky and extremely proud to have CBC as a media sponsor of all six Québec regional festivals, from now until October 4.
As part of their support, CBC has created a special page on their website (http://tinyurl.com/artsaliveQC) where anyone can post photos of art and culture occurring in their community. This is an incredible opportunity for artists to promote their own work. Sculptors, painters, filmmakers, musicians, actors, dancers, beginners, experts, young and old … ALL are welcome to post photos on Twitter or Instagram and both CBC and ELAN will share them for the world to see! But remember … you need to use the hashtag #ArtsAliveQC
