We are just a few days away from the 2013 Canada Games! This year 4,200 athletes will come to compete in 20 different events at 20 different venues in Sherbrooke and the surrounding area. As Bishop’s University is the location of the Games Village, there is sure to be lots going on in the Lennoxville community – home to Townshippers’ Association’s head office — during the games from August 2 -17.
Be sure to check out one of the many events and support our Canadian athletes! Townshippers’ is proud to be a platinum friend of the games and our Recruiter/Coordinator for the Canada Games Project Holly McMillan is busy preparing the many volunteers who stepped forward from our English-speaking community. Thank you for sharing your hospitality and time! If you would like to volunteer or have questions, please contact Holly for more details at T: 819-566-5717, 1-866-566-5717 [email protected]
T-Day is just around the corner
Townshippers’ is busy getting ready for the 34th annual Townshippers’ Day. On September 14, 2013, join us at Bishop’s College School in Lennoxville as we celebrate the townships English-speaking community through a day of food, activities, and entertainment.
This year the entertainment line up is spectacular! We are excited that Canadian musical comedy duo Bowser and Blue will be joining us and will be sure to provide some great laughs for everyone who comes out. Townshippers’ is also thrilled to welcome townships singer/songwriter Amos Joannides and his unique musical style, which blends a variety of genres.
Dance lovers will enjoy T-Day this year as three different dance troupes will be joining us; the Richmond 4H Square Dancers, the Richmond Irish dancers, and the North Country Swingers. Anyone interested in more information about T-Day is invited to visit our website at www.TDay.ca or contact Kate Holbrook at our Knowlton office by calling 450-242-4421 or toll-free: 1-877-242-4421.
