Is your group making the most out of networked communication?
In this age of digital media, how can you be sure that your message is getting out there?
QAHN is pleased to offer two training workshops next month designed to help non-profits hone their social-media skills and build community support, while avoiding common missteps that can erode public trust.
Please join QAHN and our guest presenter Johanna Tzountouris from the Centre for Community Organizations (COCo) as we learn how to use popular social-media platforms more effectively, and with greater confidence.
In our morning workshop we’ll tackle the basics of communications planning: defining goals, telling our stories and finding our audience. At a time when people often feel overwhelmed by the constant flow of information, it’s hard to be heard, and even harder to build and strengthen our network of supporters. Discover how developing a more strategic messaging approach can help you become more effective at reaching your publicity goals.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore how to create a social-media policy that encourages your community to engage with you on social media, while limiting the risks and liabilities for your organization. How can we make sure we respect the confidentiality of our members? How do we decide who is in charge, and has access, to our social media accounts? How can we respond to criticism, attacks, or harassment on social media?
The cost for both workshops is just $35 for QAHN members ($45 for non-members). And lunch is included. For information, call 819-564-9595, or email us at: dwane@qahn.org.
