The Journey Within

A series of music appreciation workshops with cellist Erich Kory
Beginning May 25, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

What we consider “Classical” music actually encompasses over 7 periods of musical development. My first lecture will clearly define these different periods, highlighted by musical examples and discussions delving into the inter-relation between sociological advancements and the music it produced. I will also provide insights on various composers’ development, both personal and professional.

Erich Kory has played the cello for a half century. He performed in New York City for over a decade, playing in practically all its theatres, most of the orchestras, and with many of the well-known artists there. His associations with artists ranging from Leonard Bernstein to Sting have inspired him to create his own music that can be heard on his recordings “Sentient Cello” and “Never Ending Story”.
