SHERBROOKE, February 11, 2014 – High school seniors could win up to $500 cash by sharing their plans for success in the Excel in the Estrie! essay competition. Make Way For YOUth, a project from Townshippers’ Association that supports youth retention, is celebrating Hooked on School Days (February 10 to 14) with the launch of the second annual scholarship essay contest!
To enter, secondary students in the graduating class of 2014 are invited to write an original essay of 600 words or less, describing how they have or plan to Excel in the Estrie!
Students, share your challenges and dreams by writing about any obstacles you faced in high school and how you overcame them, or focus on your school experiences (positive or negative) and what could have made it even better. Make sure to end your essay by showcasing your future plans, imagine where you see yourself living and working in five years from now.
The deadline to enter is Friday, March 14, 2014, after which a prize amount totalling up to $500 will be awarded to the winning essay(s).
Tell your story in your own voice using the official entry form, which can be downloaded from the Youth section of Townshippers’ website at www.townshippers.qc.ca. Contest eligibility and additional details will be posted online.
