Annual General Meeting 2017

Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2017

Townshippers’ Association held it’s 38th Annual General Meeting on June 9 at the Estrimont Suites & Spa, in Orford, Quebec. If you missed our AGM, you can catch up by watching the video below. The annual report can be downloaded from the Publications section of our website, found in our Docs Center, or by clicking one of the links at the bottom of the page.

The AGM gave community members a chance to see what the Association has been up to over the past year. This year’s meeting featured new and dynamic employability tools for community members, followed by the awarding of the 2017 Excel in the Estrie essay winner and the launch of Our Stories: The Eastern Townships’ chapter in Canada’s 150-year story anthology.

Annual report

Each year, the Association releases its annual report. It contains a message from the president and the executive director as well as the association’s financial statements and a list of the year’s accomplishments and the partners who helped to make it happen. Awards

Each year Make Way For YOUth Estrie, a project from Townshippers’ Association, hosts an essay challenge asking high school seniors to share stories about overcoming the challenges – academic, social or personal – on their path to educational success and how they see themselves living and working in the Townships in five years from now. The Excel in the Estrie! challenge is launched alongside the regional Hooked on School Week (Feb 13 to 17). The writer of the 500-600 word essay was celebrated at the AGM and their works will be published in a future issue of Townshippers magazine. Thanks to our partners – the Lennoxville Youth Center, Global Excel, and the support of the government of Canada – the winning essay writer took home $500.
