Jacques Valiquette À propos de Joan Murray / An Homage to Joan Murray

Joan (Steele) Murray (1919-2007), a silversmith and long-time resident of Georgeville, contributed greatly to the cultural life of the village. A selection of objects and jewellery that she fashioned out of silver are now on view at Studio Georgeville as part of the Songs of Silver exhibition, which includes the work of several renowned contemporary Canadian silversmiths.

Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History (Volume 2) book launch.

Louise Abbott examines the way in which the development of tourism began to reshape the landscape of the Memphremagog region in the mid-nineteenth century and the way in which the presence of visitors, seasonal residents, retirees, and others in pursuit of leisure activities continues to reshape it today as a “recreational landscape.” Both volume 2 and a reprint of volume 1 of
Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History will be available at the book launch.
