Jacques Valiquette À propos de Joan Murray / An Homage to Joan Murray
 

Joan (Steele) Murray (1919-2007), orfèvre et résidente de Georgeville, a pendant toute sa vie grandement contribué au dynamisme de la communauté artistique de Georgeville.  Un choix de ses créations en orfèvrerie et joaillerie sont présentement exposées au Studio Georgeville, dans le cadre de l’exposition
Poésie de l’orfèvrerie, qui regroupe des œuvres de plusieurs orfèvres reconnus.
 

Joan (Steele) Murray (1919-2007), a silversmith and long-time resident of Georgeville, contributed greatly to the cultural life of the village. A selection of objects and jewellery that she fashioned out of silver are now on view at Studio Georgeville as part of the Songs of Silver exhibition, which includes the work of several renowned contemporary Canadian silversmiths.

Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History (Volume 2) book launch.
 
Louise Abbott examine la façon dont le développement du tourisme a commencé à refaçonner le paysage de la région de Memphrémagog vers le milieu du XIXe siècle et la façon dont la présence de visiteurs, de résidents saisonniers, de retraités et de toutes autres personnes en quête d’activités de loisirs continue de le façonner aujourd’hui en « paysage récréatif ». Le Volume 2 ainsi qu’une réimpression du Volume 1 de Memphrémagog : Une histoire illustrée seront disponibles au lancement.
 

Louise Abbott examines the way in which the development of tourism began to reshape the landscape of the Memphremagog region in the mid-nineteenth century and the way in which the presence of visitors, seasonal residents, retirees, and others in pursuit of leisure activities continues to reshape it today as a “recreational landscape.” Both volume 2 and a reprint of volume 1 of
Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History will be available at the book launch.
