Expressions Series

Townshippers’ is proud to give a stage to creative and talented local arts through our Expression Series. This performance series features artists, musicians, performers, and writers, who are part of Townships Expressions, the Association’s digital and pop-up shop of more than 100 unique gift items of locally created or regionally themed items. Attend an Expressions Series event and you’ll directly support regional artists. You’ll also have a chance to discover and experience local musicians and wonderful music, and laugh, cry and be captivated by performances by local professional actors, directors, and playwrights.

Concert: Keenan Wilcox

Saturday, November 25, 2017, 7 pm

Bandeen Hall, Bishop’s University campus, 2600 College, Sherbrooke

With his captivating voice, singer and songwriter Keenan Wilcox  [Keenanwilcox.com] invites you on an acoustic exploration as he plays originals and interprets the alternative and folk stylings of artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, The Lumineers, and others.Originally from British Columbia, Keenan is a professional musician, published author, and literature major studying poetry and religion at Bishop’s University. He loves to write songs, poems, and prose, and has a deep interest in philosophy, political science, and pedagogy. He hopes to complete his masters in literature, and then doctorate, while continuing to produce and perform his music for audiences across Canada.

The evening will also feature a special guest performance by Eleuthera [www.unspokenplace.com], a Montreal-based soul/blues singer whose powerful, intimate performances explore love, loss, and the inner strength needed to overcome life’s hardship.

“Blending folk storytelling with deep soul and resonating delivery, Keenan often captures his audience and holds them in thought-provoking moments. A great addition to any venue from a quiet lounge setting to a festival environment.” – Bryce Herman, Director of Marketing (Chances Gaming Entertainment)

“Keenan Wilcox’s voice is truly a breath of fresh air. His lyrics are genuine, honest. You can feel his heart pouring out. The more you listen, the more you want to hear. The rich strumming of the guitar, accompanied by a warm and soothing voice, makes for an impressive combination. It makes you want to keep listening. One gets the distinct impression Keenan is telling you his secrets. There’s an old soul there.” – Susan Edgell, CFJC TV
