Lennoxville Annual Street Festival

KIT 2013 08 21

On Saturday August 24th, the annual Lennoxville Street Festival will be returning to Lennoxville! From 10 am-3pm, Queen Street will become a pedestrian mall from College until up past the Provigo.

Townshippers’ Association has presenting dynamic intergenerational entertainment at the festival since its beginning. The music at the Townshippers’ stage, located beside the old town hall, is coordinated once again this year by Eric Akbar Manolson, Townshippers’ Association’s intergenerational projects coordinator.

This year’s lineup will include new acts and favourites from previous years including the Drews, a multi-talented family band playing traditional music, Irish fiddling and more. The Mostly Swing Band, a brass and strings band true to its name; Daphnée Lachapelle preforming original compositions from her new album with a jazzy, groovy feel; Kate Morrison, Sherbrooke’s greatly loved singer-songwriter; and the Tony Scott with folk rock and old time rock and roll from the southern Townships. Jan Graham will play piano between each set.

The Townshippers’ stage is in a shady spot, with trees and picnic tables in abundance. Perfect for enjoying the live entertainment that has made this festival a local favourite.

New this year will be prize giveaways and presentations from local merchants. Townshippers’ is happy to announce that Global Excel is a partner of the Townshippers’ stage this year with a booth close by for sharing information about their company and employment opportunities available.

The event is a cooperative effort led by the Lennoxville Merchants Association and the borough of Lennoxville.

For more information, or to volunteer please contact  Eric Akbar Manolson at 819-566-5717 or 1-866-566-5717, [email protected]

T-Day 23 Days To Go

Townshippers’ Day is just around the corner with only 23 days to go until Bishop’s College School in the borough of Lennoxville, becomes the grounds for the 34th annual T-Day.

T-Day is going to be filled with music, comedy, activities, a silent auction, food and more. Townshippers’ Day does not charge an admission fee, but needs increasing public support through individual donations. As in past years, we encourage those who enjoy the festival to donate a minimum of $2.

Townshippers’ Association is looking for volunteers to help make the day a success! We are calling for anyone interested in being part of security and parking, the green team, and the welcome and information kiosk to contact Executive Director Rachel Hunting at 819-566-5717 or 1-866-566-5717, [email protected]
