Outstanding Townshippers Awards

Townshippers’ Association’s Outstanding Townshippers awards recognizes the dedication, generosity and talent of those whose unique gifts have contributed positively to the Eastern Townships English-speaking community! Thanks to community members, like you, who take the opportunity to submit a nomination, these often unsung heroes can be recognized for their efforts.

Since 1999, Townshippers’ Association has been recognizing the individuals, couples and groups, from all walks of life, who work passionately and collaboratively to make the Eastern Townships a better place to live, work and raise a family.  We will soon be accepting nominations for our annual Outstanding Townshippers’ Award. This award will be presented to two exceptional members of the Townships community who have made considerable contributions — beyond the usual expectations of their job or profession, through volunteerism, social activism, mentoring, or philanthropy — to the life of the Eastern Townships English-speaking community, either within their local community or the Townships community as a whole.

Nomination Deadline: Noon, Friday, August 26, 2016.

Awards Ceremony:

The 17th annual awards is planned for the morning of September 17, 2016, as part of the Townshippers’ Day opening ceremonies at the Brome fairgrounds.

Who Is Eligible:

Outstanding Townshippers awards are given to people selected from nominations received from the public. Candidates are those who have made considerable contributions to the life of the Eastern Townships English-speaking community, either within their local community or the Townships community as a whole. Candidates can come from all walks of life (advocacy, art, business, education, community organizations, health and social services, etc.) Candidates may be an individual, a couple or a group, of any ages, as long as they have lived in the historical Eastern Townships. Nomination may also be made posthumously. Exclusion: Townshippers’ Association’s employees and board of directors are not eligible to nominate or be nominated for the Outstanding Townshippers award.

 Important: A maximum of two Outstanding Townshippers’ awards are awarded annually;

Only completed applications that meet the required criteria will be considered.
