SHERBROOKE, April 19, 2017 – Students with an interest in the community and non-profit sector are invited to develop hands-on experience working with Townshippers’ Association this summer.
Join the Townshippers’ team at our Sherbrooke office and learn more about this non-profit community organization focused on promoting and supporting the interests of the English-speaking minority community in the Eastern Townships.
Two full-time 11-week positions, beginning on Monday, June 19, 2017, are currently open for application: Community Outreach Assistant, and a Cultural Festival and Membership Assistant.
The Community Outreach Assistant will be responsible for a variety of communications tasks including digitizing press clippings, organizing an image bank, developing written content for digital and print mediums. This position would be ideal for a university-level student in communications, administration or English studies with strong written skills who are creative and organized.
The Cultural Festival and Membership Assistant will be involved in event planning, develop recruitment materials and provide general support with festivals and cultural activities. The ideal applicant is a university-level student of communications, event management or arts administration with a strength in event planning, great organizational skills and an interest in arts and culture.
These jobs are funded as part of the Young Canada Works (YCW) Program and follow the eligibility requirements as set out by the program. Candidates are required be registered on the YCW website young-canada-works.canada.ca and be returning to full-time studies in the fall 2018 semester.
