SHERBROOKE, December 8, 2016 – Townshippers’ Association, a non-profit community organization serving the region’s English-speaking community, invites the public to the Marguerite Knapp building’s annual Open House on Wednesday, December 14, from 5 pm to 7pm, in Sherbrooke (Borough of Lennoxville).
The public is invited to meet and mingle with Townshippers’ and many of the other community groups housed in the Marguerite Knapp building, including Townshippers’ Foundation, The Townships Sun, Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network, Lennoxville & District Women’s Centre and Mental Health Estrie (MHE). The Lennoxville Youth Center will also be on-hand to share information about their activities and with raffle tickets for an evening for two at the Manoir Hovey.
The casual 5 to 7 will have live music from Keenan Wilcox, light refreshments, door prizes, special offers and a great selection of Townships themed or inspired books, CDs and greeting cards to help with holiday gift giving. This is a great opportunity to get to know more about some of the organizations serving the English-speaking community and the many projects they are working on.
Earn some extra “nice” points before the holidays by bringing new Hats, Underwear, Gloves, Socks and Scarves, and other warm articles of clothing, to donate towards MHE’s HUGS campaign. All cash gifts of $10 and over will be used to purchase warm essentials, and issued a tax receipt.
Everyone is welcome to visit the open house at the Marguerite Knapp building, 257 rue Queen, Sherbrooke. Guests will find free parking in the front of the building and ample parking in the back, accessible via rue Charlotte. This event is made possible thanks funding by the Government of Canada and the Ville de Sherbrooke.
