Expressions Series live shows spotlight the culture of the region’s English-speaking community

SHERBROOKE, November 9, 2017 – The Expressions Series, offered by non-profit organization Townshippers’ Association, presents Keenan Wilcox as its first musical guest of the season, on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Bardeen Hall.

This Eastern Townships English-language culture series, presented by the Association’s Townships Expressions project, gives the community access to affordable, limited one-night engagements featuring creative and talented local artists, musicians, performers, and writers.

Originally from British Columbia, Keenan is a professional musician, published author, and literature major studying poetry and religion at Bishop’s University. He’s made the Townships his second home, loves to write songs, poems, and prose, and has a deep interest in philosophy, political science, and pedagogy. He hopes to complete his masters in literature, and then doctorate, while continuing to produce and perform his music for audiences across Canada.

For his November 25 performance, Keenan invites the public on an acoustic exploration of originals and interprets the alternative and folk stylings of artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, The Lumineers, and others.

The evening will also feature a special guest performance by Eleuthera, a Montreal-based soul/blues singer whose powerful, intimate performances explore love, loss, and the inner strength needed to overcome life’s hardship.

This musical event is open to the public on Saturday, November 25, 2017, 7 pm, Bandeen Hall, Bishop’s University campus, 2600 College, Sherbrooke (Lennoxville). Admission at the door, $10 for Townshippers’ members, and $15 regular entry. Regular admissions include a one-year digital membership to Townshippers’ Association giving ticketholders lower prices at Townshippers’ future events.

The Expressions Series is made possible with the financial support of Cass funeral homes, Global Excel Management, Mr. Luc Fortin, Member for Sherbrooke and Minister responsible for the Estrie region, Townshippers’ Foundation, and the Ville de Sherbrooke (Borough of Lennoxville). This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada.
