An important aspect of the Association’s work is to encourage young Townshippers to become actively involved in their communities. The Young Townships Leader Award (YTLA) highlights youth achievements, dynamism and involvement by celebrating young people who serve as role models to other youth as well as to adults. Established in 2005, awards are presented annually to a young Townshipper, or Townshippers, who has shown exemplary leadership within the historical Eastern Townships English-speaking community, either in their school, town or wider community.

Help Townshippers’ encourage English-speaking youth to reach their full potential and become engaged in the community at large – culturally, socially and economically – by nominating them for the YTLA!  Thanks to our partners, YTLA recipients will be awarded $1,000!

Nomination deadline: noon, Friday, August 25, 2017
