Presentation before the Standing Committee on Official Languages
On May 15, 2014, Townshippers’ President Gerald Cutting and Executive Director Rachel Hunting presented before the Standing Committee on Official Languages on the Economic Situation of Canada’s Minority Linguistic Communities at the House of Commons in Ottawa.
Townshippers’ Association travelled to the nation’s capital to present along with representatives from the Canadian Centre for Refugee Employment and the English Language Arts Network Quebec (ELAN). The Association offered an overview the current struggles facing the English-speaking community of the historical Eastern Townships and offered recommendations that could help support and strengthen this community.
