Townshippers’ Association is looking for a University-level student of Communications or Administration to work as a School Board Election Engagement Assistant for the summer of 2018. This is a full-time 8- week position, beginning on Monday, June 18th, 2018.
Assisting with raising awareness within the English-speaking minority community around school board elections;
Assisting with providing members of the English-speaking minority community with information on how to register to vote in the upcoming school board elections;
Working in collaboration with Eastern Townships School Board administrative personnel to ensure the accuracy of the elector lists for the upcoming elections in the fall of 2018;
Working in collaboration with Eastern Townships School Board administrative personnel to prepare the elector lists for the upcoming elections in the fall of 2018;
Promoting the democratic process;
General administrative tasks related to promoting and facilitating election engagement among the English-speaking minority community in the Eastern Townships.Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle are considered an asset.Applications are welcome from women, persons with disabilities, visible and linguistic minorities or Aboriginal peoples. Candidates must be registered on the Young Canada Works website* and be returning to full-time studies in the Fall 2018 semester.
