The Young Townships Leader Award (YTLA) from Townshippers’ Association, encourages younger citizens to become actively involved in their communities by celebrating their achievements, commitment, and efforts. They are the people in our community who serve as role models because of their actions. Established in 2006, the YTLA is presented annually to a young Townshipper(s), between the ages of 15 and 35, who has shown leadership within the English-speaking community of the historical Eastern Townships, either in their school, job, town or in the wider community.
Help Townshippers’ encourage English-speaking youth to reach their full potential and become engaged in the community at large – culturally, socially and economically – by nominating them for the YTLA! Thanks to our partners, YTLA recipients will be awarded $1,000!

Townshippers’ is excited to announce that starting on June 8, 2018, nominations will remain open year-round!
During this transition year, the deadline for the 2018 awards is Friday, May 18. Nominations received after May 18, will automatically be considered for next years awards. After the 2018 awards are presented at Townshippers’ annual general meeting on June 8, the awards will adopt a new annual deadline which will be the last business day of April, and any late entries will always be considered for the following year.
We hope by keeping this award open throughout the year will make it easier for the public to submit nominations the moment they are inspired by someone’s actions!
