SHERBROOKE, November 14, 2013 – Members of the public are warmly invited to Fall into Winter with entertainment, discovery and seven community organizations at the Marguerite Knapp Building annual open house from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
For the thirteenth year the Marguerite Knapp Building, which is home to a number of organizations offering services to the English-speaking community, will open its doors and offer visitors a chance to enjoy talented Townships Expressions pianist Jan Graham, partake of delicious refreshments and win door prizes.
Guests will also have the opportunity to get a jump on their holiday shopping from a selection of unique regional works that support local artists, and discover the many services available through the organizations in the building such as Townshippers’ Association, who will be offering printed ornaments in support of English-speaking arts anthology Taproot V, the Townships Sun magazine which will be taking new and renewing subscriptions and offering past issues and the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN) who will share details about their new project “Security for Heritage” and take subscription to Quebec Heritage News magazine!
During the open house, QAHN is offering a 40% discount on their recently released DVD “English Quebec in 100 Objects,” an excellent stocking stuffer. Shoppers who spend $10 or more at the QAHN table can win a chance to enjoy 1 night (double occupancy) at the beautiful Ripplecove Inn in Ayer’s Cliff.
Visitors are also invited to meet with special visitor, the Lennoxville Youth Center, and spread some pre-seasonal cheer and support the community by contributing funds or new and Hats, Underwear, Gloves, Socks and scarves for Mental Health Estrie’s HUGS program which provides warm clothing to those in to ease the trauma experienced by homelessness during the cold winter months, or donating non-perishable food for the Lennoxville and District Women’s Centre Bare Necessities food drive.
The Marguerite Knapp Building is located at 257 Queen Street in Sherbrooke, Borough of Lennoxville. Guests will find free parking in the front of the building and ample parking in the back, accessible via Charlotte Street.
