Townshippers’ Association Opens House to
Celebrate 35th Anniversary

SHERBROOKE, November 27, 2014 – In honour of its 35th anniversary, Townshippers’ Association, which has been an integral part of the English-speaking community of the historical Eastern Townships since it was established in 1979, invites the public to a very special celebratory open house on Friday, December 12, 2014, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Since its creation, Townshippers’ Association has had the interest of the English-speaking community at its heart. Its focus has been to ensure that all of the members of this minority community remain visible. Through a variety of initiatives, Townshippers’ works to strengthen the community and culture of English-speaking Townshippers, open doors of opportunity for youth and promote access to health, social and other services in English. The association’s work continues to be important today and its input is sought by federal, provincial and local governments and other bodies on a variety of issues that touch on the lives of English-speakers in Quebec.

Don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate the community spirit that has powered the Association for the last 35 years at the free open house on December 12.  Explore the location of Townshippers’ head office in the Marguerite Knapp building, discover what activities the Association has been involved in and what is coming up next, chat with the team responsible for many projects and activities in the region and meet with representatives from the Association’s board. Enjoy live entertainment with Townships Expressions artist Matthew McCully, special activities and an exhibit of the association over three decades as well as door prizes and refreshments!

The open house takes place on Friday, December 12th, 2014, at Townshippers’ Association’s head office, in the Marguerite Knapp building, 257 Queen Street, Sherbrooke.
