Call for 2019-2020 Dialogue McGill Category 1 and Category 2 Bursaries for bilingual Health and Social Services students

SHERBROOKE, April 15th, 2019 – McGill University, in partnership with Townshippers’ Association’s Eastern Townships Partners for Health and Social Services Estrie and Montérégie-East networks (Sherbrooke and Lac-Brome offices) will be offering bursaries to students studying in Health and Social Services programs at institutions in or outside of the Eastern Townships.

Dialogue McGill’s bursary program was created to address the need for bilingual health care practitioners in selected Quebec regions and encourages students to pursue studies in the field of health, in government recognized educational institutions, and to commit to establishing their careers in their home region upon completion of their studies.
Bursaries are awarded based on the level at which the student is studying:

  • Category 1 bursaries are offered to students studying in educational institutions located outside of their home region
    • University: $10,000 per student registered for full-time studies in the 2019-2020 Academic Year;
    • Cégep / college: $5,000 per student registered for full-time studies in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
  • Category 2 bursaries are offered to students studying in educational institutions located within their home region
    •  University: $5,000 per student registered for full-time studies in the 2019-2020 Academic Year;
    •  Cégep / college: $2,500 per student registered for full-time studies in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

All applications must be received by a Townshippers’ Association network no later than 4:00 p.m. May 21st, 2019; incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will be screened by a committee comprised of personnel from Townshippers’ Association and the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS and then forwarded to McGill University’s selection committee.
